The scenery in Vermont is something that cannot be captured by a picture. I've tried and it simply does not do the state justice to its beauty. Yesterday I did a pretty big road trip. I ventured south down route 7 through Rutland and veered off to find Bridgewater Corners VT, the home of Long Trail Brewing Company. I took a little tour of the brewery and bought myself a pint glass and a long sleeve T-shirt to take back with me. Before I leave the state, I am going to stop and pick up some beer to take back with me since most of these great micro-breweries only distribute as far East as Pittsburgh.

After the brewery, I headed Southwest towards Manchester to take the scenic skyline drive on Mount Equinox. Along the way I passed several lakes nestled in the mountains and I also drove through the town of Bromley. The views from the highway through Bromley are something that I wish I had stopped to capture on camera, but I had to keep moving to make it to Equinox by 6PM.

Equinox is the highest point in the Taconic Mountan Range that stretches down into Massachusetts. When you purchase your token to get through the gate, they give you a pamphlet that explains how to drive the 5.2 miles without overheating your car or ruining your brakes. The views that you get from the mountain are incredible. When I get back and have the chance to PhotoShop some of these pics, I'll post some photo galleries. You can read all about the mountain and it's history from the Mount Equinox website. This part of the trip had a strange hint of deja vu. Bill spent his late teenage years working at the inn on top of Equinox. He comes back here every summer for vacation and takes pictures of the mountain. I've seen pictures of the inn, Mr. Barbo's grave, Lookout Rock and heard numerous stories about this place. It was very strange to actually visit the scene of the pictures and tales.

Today I am heading to Quechee Gorge and White River Junction to hopefully meet up with Eric. More to come soon...

P.S. I know I already spoke to you on the phone; but Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day, Pop.
