Alright, so it was 20 years ago. And the Red Sox have won a World Series since the Bill Buckner play that Red Sox fans will never forget. Alas, my Cubs are just one season shy of going without a World Series championship for a century. It was discovered this week that Bill Buckner, while making that unforgetable play in '86, was wearing a batting glove under his mitt. First basemen do this a lot. But that's not the discovery. The discovery is that while making that play, the batting glove he was wearing was a Chicago Cubs batting glove!

I wish I was making this up.

Does this mean that the Red Sox curse of '86 was really nothing more than someone bleeding the Cubs' curse into the picture?

Screw that. Curses aren't real, but ESPN's Page 2 site has a pretty good article about the discovery of the Buckner glove. Kind of interesting, but I'm still bitter. Especially if the Red Sox fans now blame the Cubs for Buckner's '86 missed play. Give me a break!

:-)
